My art practice reaches back to desires, dreams and archetypes that express themselves in multiple medias, ranging from paintings, installations, and sculptures with found objects. Coming from a family of scientists, I am very interested in the dialogue between natural science and visual arts. The properties of everyday objects and the memories they contain is often a starting point for my work. For a recent commission for a public sculpture in Switzerland, I used pieces of plastic bags. The “Beast” in the Alps was a synthesis of my interest in structure and construction and served as a reminder that the Alps themselves were once the bottom of an ocean. Plastic “made forever” transcends time and international and geological boundaries. I am inspired both by the physical world we live in and the possibility of transforming people and spaces through art. My public practice of working with at-risk youth and art influences much of my public art. Over the last 18 plus years I have led many projects. My studio practice as a painter has started long before attending Zurich University of Art and Design. It is my desire to express myself with an uncanny urgency, pouring paint, mixing bold colors, scratching and peeling off paint, letting images appear on the canvas. This kind of ongoing story-telling is the center of my forever evolving art-making. My paintings are represented by Galerie für Gegenwartskunst in Bonstetten/Switzerland, SF MOMA Artists’ Gallery in San Francisco, Kunstfokus in Zurich Switzerland. Since 2009 I annually exhibit my paintings and sculptures at Art Zurich. Numerous solo and group exhibitions with critical acclaim took place in England, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Slovenia, Switzerland and the USA. Residencies in Osor/Croatia, Piran/Slovenia, Osaka/Japan, Berlin/Germany, Las Vegas/NV, Richmond/CA. My paintings are in collections at Bank J. Safra Sarasin, Artefact Hotel Art Consultants London, Firma Marcuard FO, Goldwell Open Air Museum, Collection Nikolas Hayek, Foundation Castle Greifensee, Lied Discovery Children’s Museum, Hospital of Olten, Klinik Hirslanden, Klinik zur Linde, Library Kressbronn, Federal Health Department of Switzerland, United Nations San Francisco, Swiss Re Zurich, Zurich Insurance, ETH Zurich, and Sulzer AG Winterthur, and numerous private collectors worldwide.
