Mandie Keay is a Calgary based oil painting artist. Her subjects are all beautifully rendered females that are painted on wood. She is inspired by and sees the beauty in the balance, simplicity, and organic nature of all life forms. This is shown in her wood paintings that are tinted with a natural wash to bring out the wood grain patterns. Her signature mandala designs compliment the zen essence of all her models that are sensual and within the element of the paintings. Despite the realism portrayed through her detailed and tight brush strokes, the composition nevertheless brings out a relaxed sensation where the body and mind is one with nature.
