Growing up in northern Norway finding beauty was not hard; the minimalistic look of a snow-covered lake, the abstract shapes on a moss covered granite mountain side; mid century modern was a way of life, not a design concept. Simplicity, strong shapes and soft hues shaped my sense of design from an early age. Being able to translate this in my paintings gives me great joy, staying true to myself. Working exclusively in oil and cold wax for the last 5 years has brought me even closer to this end, it involves taking a journey into yourself - without a map, intuitive and full of discovery.
